Clemson football defeated SMU in the ACC to make the CFP for the first time since 2020. The win helped Dabo Swinney earn bonus money too.

According to USA TODAY's annual Coaches Compensation Report, Dabo Swinney remains one of the highest-paid coaches in college football, ranking second nationally with $11,132,755 in total compensation for the 2024 season.

Dabo Swinney spoke to the media after the announcement that the Clemson Tigers would take on the Texas Longhorns in the first round of the College Football Playoff.

The Tigers athletic department also gets a payday after Clemson won the ACC title, qualified for the Collefe Football Playoff.

Swinney offered the example of Clemson coming out of spring practice with one open scholarship after two late transfers. The Tigers ultimately decided to stick with who they had on the roster and award the scholarship to walk-on offensive lineman Chapman Pendergrass heading into the 2024 season.
