Alpine Formula 1 team replaces Esteban Ocon with Jack Doohan for the Abu Dhabi season finale as Ocon prepares to join Haas in the next season.

LUSAIL, Qatar — Jack Doohan is poised to replace Esteban Ocon at Alpine for the Formula One Abu Dhabi season finale after talks this weekend in Qatar. Alpine announced in August that Doohan, its reserve driver, would step up to a full-time seat for 2025 and replace Ocon, who had signed a deal in July to join Haas.

Jack Doohan, who is signed to drive for Alpine in 2025, will take over the car in Abu Dhabi.

Esteban Ocon has been dropped by Alpine for the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix – with F1 rookie Jack Doohan replacing him. Ocon, who has been a driver for the French team since the 2020 season, joins Haas next year and was expected to see out his five years at Alpine next week.

Esteban Ocon may have an early end to the season at Alpine, according to rumours in the Qatar paddock. If they are proved to be correct, Ocon would be replaced by Jack Doohan, who already has a contract signed with the team for next season.
