High court acts in an emergency appeal from the American Civil Liberties Union over removals under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

The court said earlier this month that deportations could proceed only if those set to be removed had a chance to argue their case in court.

The Supreme Court blocked Donald Trump’s administration from another round of deportations under the Alien Enemies Act in the early hours of Saturday.
