A tree fell onto a Nevada County home during Tuesday morning's snowstorm, leaving one woman stunned as she returned from work to find her bedroom destroyed.

Nevada County Sheriff's Office said in a Facebook post that six skiers in a group of 16 have survived the avalanche and are waiting to be rescued, but 10 of the skiers are still missing. The group consisted of four ski guides with 12 clients.

A hiker was rescued by helicopter after a California creek rapidly rose 3 feet during a winter storm, cutting off their escape route.

About 6,300 Pacific Gas & Electric Co. customers in Nevada County are without power, with the utility citing stormy weather as the cause.

Another round of rain is set to hit Southern California this week, bringing moderate rainfall, mountain snow and possible travel hazards.

Scattered showers may occur in the morning and afternoon hours, according to the National Weather Service.
