ATLANTA — Tom Glavine, the former Atlanta Braves single-season strikeout leader among left-handers, was asked Saturday about Chris Sale, who this month passed Glavine and became the first left-hander in franchise history with 200 strikeouts in a season.

Chris Sale allowed one run and struck out six over six innings, shutting down Shohei Ohtani in the process, for his major league-leading 17th win of the season as the Atlanta Braves beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 10-1.

Chris Sale has been utterly sensational in his first year with the Atlanta Braves this season. While Atlanta still has a way to go to ensure itself of a seventh-straight postseason appearance, Tom Glavine is seeing something far beyond his great pitching.
