Harvard University filed a lawsuit Monday against President Donald Trump ’s administration after the government froze billions of dollars in federal grants over what it had claimed was antisemitism at the university.

The university called the funding freeze "unlawful and beyond the government’s authority" and warned of severe and long-lasting consequences.

Lawsuit argues that government actions, including freezing $2.2 billion in federal funding, violated the First Amendment and didn’t follow legal procedures.
