Dallas ISD is stepping up their safety protocols to keep the community safe following a deadly shooting and multiple arrests for threats against schools in North Texas. This week, the district shifted the times and locations of several sports games and increased security at these events.

Dallas police are investigating a shooting downtown that injured three people Thursday afternoon. Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to a call in the 1800 block of Commerce Street just after 12 p.m., a spokesperson for the department said. Neither the Dallas Police Department nor Dallas Fire-Rescue provided details on the victims' conditions.

Kimball's home game in Dallas and others were moved to address overall safety concerns, a Dallas ISD spokesperson said.
