A majority, 64%, of Ohio lawmakers who responded to a survey think Attorney General Dave Yost will drop his long-planned bid for governor. That includes 68% of his fellow Republicans and 56% of Democrats, according to the Gongwer-Werth Legislative Poll released Thursday.

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost announced Friday that he is suspending his campaign for governor. The move comes one week after the Ohio Republican Party announced its endorsement for Vivek Ramaswamy. Yost originally announced his bid for governor in January.

Ramaswamy has received endorsements from President Donald Trump, Elon Musk and the Ohio Republican Party. Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost ended his campaign for governor May 16, leaving entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy with a clearer path in the Republican primary.
