A warning system on the Delta Air Lines flight that crashed at Pearson airport last month sent an alert indicating a high rate of descent less than three seconds before the plane touched down, according to a preliminary report.

A Delta Air Lines flight from the Twin Cities crash-landed in Toronto and flipped upside-down in mid-February after the airplane descended quickly and part of the right landing gear broke, according to a preliminary report from the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB).
