Derek Carr is recovering well from shoulder and rib injuries suffered against the Lions, but his concussion could keep him out of Week 14.

New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is in the concussion protocol after sustaining his second concussion in three weeks, according to Saints coach Dennis Allen. Carr left Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions and the Saints' Week 10 game against the Minnesota Vikings to go into the concussion protocol but sustained other injuries in both of those games as well.

The boos seemed to rain down on Derek Carr until Lions defensive tackle Bruce Irvin crashed down hard on top of the the Saints quarterback with a little more than 10 minutes left in New Orleans’ 33-28 loss to Detroit.

Dennis Allen shared an injury update on Saints quarterback Derek Carr, saying Jameis Winston will start in Week 14 if Carr can’t play:

Saints tight end-slash-quarterback Taysom Hill was noticeably absent from practice as he recovers from injuries to both his foot and left hand. Allen said Hill will be monitored throughout the week prior to the Saints (5-7) home game against NFC South rival Carolina (1-11) on Sunday.

"He's being evaluated," Coach Dennis Allen said Monday. "He's in the concussion protocol but he's also being evaluated for a rib injury. We don't have all of the results back on that, but the shoulder seemed like it came out fine. We'll evaluate him as we go throughout the week, see what his availability will be."
