Over 50 bodies were found decomposing at a South Side funeral home after months of complaints about a foul stench from nearby Chicago residents.

An investigation is underway after dozens of decomposing human remains were found at a Chicago funeral home, authorities said.

The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation last inspected South Chicago Chapel funeral home in October, 10 months before 56 decomposing bodies were found there.
