4.7-magnitude quake rattles Southern California, experts say. ‘Terrible wake up call’
A 4.7-magnitude earthquake rattled the Los Angeles area awake, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The slightly more than 7-mile deep quake hit about 4 miles north of Malibu at 7:28 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, according to the USGS. More than 5,300 people from as far away San Diego and Bakersfield reported feeling the tremor to the agency so far.
