A mountain town in New Mexico, United States, that was badly affected by wildfires last year is now dealing with severe flooding after heavy rainfall on Tuesday. The rain hit areas that had previously been burned, creating dangerous conditions, officials said.

A man, a 4-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy were swept away Tuesday by floodwaters, the village of Ruidoso said in a statement.
