A police officer was shot Saturday morning in Sharpstown after an exchange of gunfire that left a suspected burglar dead, the Houston Police Department said in a social media post. The shooting happened near the 6900 block of Harwin Drive,

HPD said as officers were arriving at the scene, the accused shooter was pulling out in a truck and led the officers on a brief chase.
