The Israeli army on Sunday said it recovered the body of Mohammed Sinwar, a senior Hamas commander who was killed in a May 13 airstrike at a Gaza hospital.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on June 8 the death of Hamas field commander Mohammed Sinwar after forensic verification identified his body beneath the rubble of a tunnel in Gaza.

Following the elimination of Hamas's Gaza chief, Muhammad Sinwar, the Islamist group will have to choose a new leader to head the organization in the territory. However, Israel's eliminations of Hamas leaders will make it difficult to find a suitable successor.
