Israel's military says troops in central Gaza fired warning shots at a group posing a potential threat, but that it was unaware of injuries.

Israeli gunfire and strikes killed at least 140 people across Gaza in the past 24 hours, local health officials have said.

At least 51 people were killed and more than 200 others injured by Israeli fire as they waited for aid trucks to arrive in Khan Younis in southern Gaza early Tuesday morning, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said.
