A series of U.S. airstrikes have targeted several camps run by the Islamic State group in Syria. The U.S. military said the operation will disrupt the extremists from conducting attacks in the region and beyond.

The US Central Command on Saturday said its forces had conducted air strikes against "multiple known ISIS camps in Syria", adding that the strikes were aimed at disrupting the ability of the group to conduct attacks against the United States and its allies.
