A federal judge in Maryland has issued a nationwide block of an executive order from President Donald Trump that sought to end birthright citizenship for children born to those who entered the United States illegally.

U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman issued the injunction at court hearing on a lawsuit brought by civil rights groups arguing that Trump’s order is unconstitutional.
