A new wildfire was reported today at 8:35 a.m. in Los Angeles County. The wildfire has been burning on private land. There is no update on the containment progress of the fire and its cause remains unknown.

During a Feb. 18 news conference, Los Angeles County officials deliver updates on debris removal and other cleanup efforts in the sites of the Palisades and Eaton fires.

Two fires were reported within 15 minutes and a block of each other in Los Angeles’s Chinatown neighborhood Wednesday morning where authorities said they were investigating reports of a person walking around with a gas can. Both fires were reported on North Broadway shortly before 2 a.m., said Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Lyndsey Lantz.

Two restaurants on the same street in Chinatown were on fire Wednesday, with some witnesses saying a suspect was seen carrying a gas can in the area. The fires were reported around 2:15 a.m.
