With Roy Cooper term-limited, North Carolina will get a new governor in 2024. After easy victories in the primaries, Democrat Josh Stein and Republican Mark Robinson are the major party candidates seeking to become the state’s 76th Governor.

ECU conducted the poll Sept. 23-26, days after the bombshell CNN KFile report tying Robinson to a series of offensive posts on a pornography website, including supporting slavery, peeping in a women’s locker room as a teenager and describing himself as a “Black NAZI.”

North Carolina Attorney General Josh Stein (D) is leading embattled Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson (R) by 17 points in the gubernatorial race, according to a new survey. The High Point University poll released Thursday shows Stein with 51 percent support compared to Robinson’s 34 percent among North Carolina’s likely voters.
