Mohamed Bahi, who resigned from his job in the Adams administration, was arrested for obstructing the investigation into the mayor and his campaign.

Bahi is accused of working with a local businessman to set up the alleged straw donor campaign scheme that led to the Mayor’s criminal indictment on federal bribery and corruption charges.

In a complaint unsealed Tuesday, federal prosecutors said 40-year-old Mohamed Bahi, of Staten Island, was charged with one count of witness tampering, as well as one count of destroying evidence.

Mohamed Bahi, who worked in the mayor’s community affairs office, is accused of instructing multiple witnesses to lie to federal investigators about a fundraiser for Adams.
