Ryans is considered a rising star in the coaching ranks.

San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans was one of the first stars in Houston Texans franchise history. Soon, he could have the chance to transform his old team from an NFL afterthought to an annual contender.

After nearly three weeks of interviews with eight candidates, the Texans’ coaching search is nearing its end. A decision is expected to come as early as this week. Texans chairman/CEO Cal McNair and general manager Nick Caserio initially cast a wide net,

Ryans would become the sixth head coach in Texans franchise history, and it would be a homecoming after he began his playing career in Houston in 2006.

The Texans are expected to hire 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans later this week, so it comes as no surprise that he won’t interview anywhere else. Woody Paige of the Denver Gazette reports that Ryans has informed the Broncos that he is not interested in their head coaching job.
