CNN — A Tokyo-bound plane crashed while taking off from Ninoy Aquino International Airport in the Philippines capital city of Manila on Sunday, killing all eight on board, airport personnel told CNN.
At least 117 people have died in plane crashes since the start of 2025.
According to the PNP, eyewitnesses reported seeing smoke coming from the aircraft before it plummeted to the ground.
