Louis DeJoy had previously announced he would be stepping away as Postmaster General of the US Postal Service. On Monday, he made it official when he resigned from the position.

DeJoy was nearing his fifth year in the role and left his 10-year plan for the organization for his successor to accomplish.

US Postmaster General Louis DeJoy, who said earlier this month he had asked the government efficiency team led by Elon Musk for assistance with a number of issues, is resigning effective Monday, the agency said.
