Ukrainian drones killed 5 people in Russia’s border region of Belgorod while Russian missiles killed 2 in Kharkiv.

Russian President Vladimir Putin held discussions with US envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner in an effort to revive peace negotiations for the ongoing Ukraine conflict.

The pause in attacks on the Ukrainian capital will begin at midnight, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Russia’s Tass news agency on Saturday. The announcement came as Russian and Ukrainian forces have continued to exchange intensified aerial attacks.

Russia and Ukraine exchanged more strikes that killed civilians and injured many others on both sides, local authorities reported. In Russia's border Belgorod region, five people died and two dozen others were injured overnight in Ukrainian drone attacks.
