Strikes on Ukrainian cities claimed the lives of at least 27 people in one of the deadliest days this year for civilians.

Russia said on Thursday that ​air defences had destroyed ‌32 drones heading towards Moscow since the ​start of the ​day, as the country ⁠prepares for Russia's May 9 ​Victory Day commemorations.

"We have also received messages from some states close to Russia, saying that their representatives plan to be in Moscow," said Zelensky, speaking in central Kyiv in a regular video address.
