Russia unleashed a major missile and drone barrage on Kyiv early Friday, killing six people, leaving gaping holes in apartment buildings and starting fires as the sound of explosions boomed across the city and lit up the night sky.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha said at the start of a meeting on Ukraine and defense cooperation that Kyiv needs to overcome what will be a “very difficult, very tough winter.”

Russia's Black Sea port of Novorossiysk halted oil exports on Friday after a Ukrainian drone attack, and oil pipeline monopoly Transneft suspended crude supplies to the outlet, two industry sources told Reuters.
