Russian and Belarusian stars will have to sign a declaration stating they do not support the invasion of Ukraine or the regimes in their countries to be allowed to play at Wimbledon. And they face disqualification if they breach the rules during the grass-court Grand Slam in July.

Wimbledon lifted its ban on Russian and Belarusian players on Friday and will allow them to compete in the grasscourt Grand Slam this year as "neutral" athletes in a climbdown from the stance it took after Moscow's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The prestigious tournament totally banned athletes from the two countries last year following the invasion of Ukraine

Wimbledon has lifted a controversial ban on Russian and Belarusian players from competing at this summer’s Championships, with the All England Club admitting it has been forced into an “incredibly difficult decision” due to “consequences” which if continued would be “damaging” to British tennis.

Russian and Belarusian players will be allowed to compete at Wimbledon this year, the All England Club has announced.
