One of 15 students charged in a charged in a hate crime attack on a man near Salisbury University had his charges reduced in a hearing Thursday.

Fifteen students at Salisbury University in Maryland are facing assault and hate crime charges after they allegedly targeted a man “due to his sexual preferences” and lured him to an off-campus apartment where they beat him,

The three college fraternity students both charged with a hate crime are from Anne Arundel County, court records show.

First-degree assault charges were also dropped, though other charges for all 15 students suspected in the assault remain.
