Garvin County Sheriff’s Office and the Pauls Valley Police Department have confirmed a shooting took place in the lobby of Pauls Valley High School on Tuesday.

The school principal is injured, and one person is detained following a shooting at Pauls Valley High School, according to the Garvin County Sheriff’s Office. GCSO said a principal, Kirk Moore, was shot in the leg and airlifted to the hospital. Authorities said no students were injured in the shooting.

Principal Kirk Moore stopped the shooter before any students were harmed. Moore said he is recovering and looks forward to returning to work. Ranae Sprowls received a call Tuesday from her son, a junior at the high school.
