Musk's expectation appears to be that the FAA will authorize a launch next week, which will feature a reuse of the Super Heavy booster used during Flight Test 7. Despite a second-stage failure on Flight Test 7, the first-stage booster returned to the launch site and was caught by arms on the launch tower.
SpaceX chief Elon Musk has strongly suggested that the ninth test flight of the massive Starship rocket will take place next week. “Just before the Starship flight next week, I will give a company talk explaining the Mars game plan in Starbase, Texas, that will also be live-streamed on X,” Musk said in a social media post on Wednesday.
Live updates from the Starlink 6-83 mission, which launched at 1:02 a.m. on May 13 from Kennedy Space Center Pad 39A.
Elon Musk’s company will be allowed to begin launching its Starship rocket up to 25 times a year from its Starbase complex in Texas, according to the FAA.
