Ram's electric version of its 1500 pickup truck won't deliver the long-promised 500 miles of range. The information was first reported on Jan. 15 by Mopar Insiders and has since been confirmed to Motor Authority by a Ram spokesperson.

The truck maker confirmed it's canceling the Ram 1500 REV's larger 229.0-kWh battery, which was said to provide 500 miles of range.
