PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Thorpedo Anna won Horse of the Year honors at the Eclipse Awards on Thursday night, becoming only the second 3-year-old filly to beat male competition for the top trophy.

Reigning Horse of the Year will try to rebound from off-the-board performance in La Troienne, her worst finish in 13 career starts.

Thorpedo Anna won last year's Kentucky Oaks at Churchill Downs and finished the year with six wins in seven starts. Her only loss came against male horses in the Travers, where she was second.
