National Hurricane Center expects system in southwestern area of the Gulf to drift northwestward. Center is tracking two more systems.

A low pressure area has an 80% chance of forming into a tropical depression in the next 48 hours, forecasters said.

A tropical depression could form in the Gulf early-to-mid next week while the wave slowly moves northwestward over the southwestern portions of the waters. The chance of the tropical depression developing in the next two days is low, meaning 20%. There is a medium chance that it will form within the next week.
