Federal judges in Maryland and California Thursday ordered the Trump administration to rehire thousands of probationary workers they said were improperly fired across 19 agencies. Thursday was also President Donald Trump's deadline for federal agencies to submit plans for further "mass" workforce reductions and significant budget cuts.

Two federal judges have ordered the Trump Administration to bring back probationary workers who were fired from at least six government agencies – about 30,000 employees.

The judge's decision means that, for the time being, those employees who lost their jobs due to the presidential administration’s cuts were to be reinstated.

The order from U.S. District Judge James Bredar came in a lawsuit filed by 19 states and the District of Columbia against multiple federal agencies alleging the mass firings are illegal.
