The comments made by President Donald Trump about the war in Ukraine, and about the leaders of Russia and Ukraine, have changed often during his second term in office. At the outset, in January,
President Donald Trump said the US will carry out strikes inside Venezuela “soon.” Speaking at a Cabinet meeting, the president also said he and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth did not know about a second strike on an alleged drug boat in the Caribbean.
The update was issued hours after Russia launched a wave of overnight attacks on Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, with at least seven people killed in strikes that hit city buildings and energy infrastructure.
Mark Rutte's comments come a day after Putin rejected US proposals for peace in Ukraine after talks with US negotiators in Moscow.
