An association of more than 700 partners at major U.S. law firms submitted a court brief on Friday supporting Susman Godfrey in its federal lawsuit challenging U.S. President Donald Trump's executive order against the firm.

Clients who previously had no difficulty finding representation are now being turned away by those who worry that taking the cases might risk presidential disapproval," said the group's amicus brief.

President Donald Trump has claimed he is suing the law firm Perkins Coie which was the target of an executive order he signed last month. Trump claimed in a Truth Social post Wednesday that he was “suing” the Democratic-tied law firm for its “egregious and unlawful acts” and the conduct of one unnamed member of the firm.
