An American woman was fatally shot while participating in a protest in the West Bank. Witnesses said Israeli soldiers were responsible.

U.S. State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller confirmed the death of the 26-year-old woman born in Turkey as Aysenur Ezgi Eygi. The White House said in a statement it was “deeply disturbed” by the killing of a U.
