Israel is condemned after strikes on UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon.

A statement from the Spanish Foreign Ministry reiterated the country’s opposition to such attacks, saying: "The government strongly condemns Israel's new assault on the UNIFIL headquarters in Naqoura, which has caused further injuries among peacekeeping personnel."

Turkey condemns Israel's attacks targeting the U.N. peacekeepers in Lebanon (UNIFIL), its foreign ministry said late on Thursday, adding Ankara would continue supporting similar peacekeeping initiatives and structures.

The U.N. peacekeeping mission known as UNIFIL is stationed in southern Lebanon to monitor hostilities along the demarcation line with Israel -- an area that has seen serious clashes between Israeli troops and Iran-backed Hezbollah fighters.

Italian Defence Minister Guido Crosetto has told his Israeli counterpart Yoav Gallant that the shelling of the headquarters of the UN peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon on Thursday was unacceptable.
