Several public and private schools across the United States will open after a two-hour delay on Monday, authorities have said.
Multiple states across the U.S. have been hit with winter storm warnings, issued by the National Weather Service (NWS), which could bring up to 10 inches of snow in some areas, from Tuesday morning into the afternoon and in some cases, even Wednesday through to Thursday night.

In some regions, the NWS warned that the hazardous conditions could affect the commuters on Monday, as travel may become difficult or even impossible during periods of intense snowfall.
A Wind Advisory goes into effect at 7 AM for northwestern Pocahontas County through 3 PM. Winds from the west at up to 25 mph will be possible, with gusts of up to 45 mph expected. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
