Wendy's said in its earnings call Friday that it will shutter some 200 to 350 underperforming restaurants, starting this year and into 2026.
Wendy's is closing about 300 locations over the next year as the fast-food chain seeks to revitalize its business model and become more profitable.
Fast food chain Wendy's is set to close hundreds of restaurants around the country. CNN is reporting that in a call on Friday, Interim CEO Ken Cook told analysts a “mid single-digit percentage” of approximately 6,000 U.S. locations could close, which amounts to between 200 and 350 restaurants.
Wendy's has 16 locations in Rhode Island, according its website. That includes four in Providence, three in Warwick and two in Pawtucket and Cranston. The Indiana-based chain of donut shops filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy recently.
