Rain showers will begin this afternoon but quickly change to snow showers, with total accumulations between 2 and 5 inches expected across Northeast Ohio on Wednesday afternoon going into Thursday.

Friday evening commuters in Oneida County could face snow-covered roads as weather service warns of rapidly changing conditions and visibility issues.

The advisory was active for St. Clair, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Wayne, Lenawee and Monroe counties.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect around Southeast Michigan due to falling snow and tumbling temperatures making driving hazardous on highways. Up to five inches are expected in the immediate area with even more snow expected to fall in the thumb.
